I so wanted to have this posted Thursday evening the day after the wedding but the hotel room connection wouldn’t let me put any pictures online. Aleigh and Steven’s wedding really speaks for itself. The wedding was held in Cancun, Mexico at the Dreams Rivera Resort right by the beach with a Gorgeous Sunset! My job was easy. These two make such a cute couple and I just loved every minute of covering their wedding and celebrating with them. Here are the photos I’ve been dying to share for 3 days!
Enjoy and feel free to leave a comment below.
For you shutterbugs out there, always know the most important thing to make a photo is behind the camera not the camera itself. Traveling often means using smaller equipment and I think my newer smaller cameras actually outperform my bigger DSLRs with the end results. The smaller mirrorless cameras aren’t as distracting and they allow me to get much more candid photos which are my personal favorites. I shot most of the wedding with my Fujifilm X-Pro 2 using a Fujinon 56mm f/1.2 which is probably the best lens I’ve ever used. I also used my x-100t as a backup camera and a 16mm f/1.4 for any wide angle shots. Most of the Bonfire shots were taken with a Mitakon Zyonghi 35mm f/0.95 which is a manual focus lens and absolutely one of my favorite lenses.
Lastly, I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted to completely rely on such a new system so I brought my Canon 5d Mark III with a 50mm f/1.4 Sigma Art Lens and my Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro Lens. The 50mm I used mostly for the ceremony processional and the Macro is actually the largest lens I took and it was was only used for two photos on this blog. The Fuji cameras performed so well for me that I think it’s time to find my 5d3 a new home.
